Standard Chartered Bangkok Marathon

This is the worst marathon I’ve ever raced (in 2006). To beguin with, the route is not particularly attractive: it starts at around 2 a.m. and most of the time it only goes along a highway in the middle of the night. Gatorade was only offered once or twice.
The worst things I found about the Bangkok Marathon, however, were:
1- The fact that it was actually 2 kilometers longer than the 42k (!); and
2 – Roads are NOT closed for the race: at the end of the race, runners have to stop several times to let the traffic pass!
I will certainly not run this marathon again.
